DESCRIPTION

Kinesio tape is an elastic tape (95% cotton, 5% spandex) with an adhesive backing. Used when faced with:

osteochondrosis, arthrosis, scoliosis;
sports injury prevention;
bruises of the soft tissues of the extremities;
neurological manifestations of cervical, thoracic and lumbar osteochondrosis.

Contraindications:

open wounds and trophic ulcers;
eczema;
allergic reaction to acrylic;
xeroderm;
first trimester of pregnancy;
individual intolerance.

When using the kinesio taping technique, the condition of the problem area should be monitored before and after taping. Every person is unique and taking into account each person’s individuality makes successful therapy possible. Therefore, it is recommended to seek the help of specialists (trained therapists or sports doctors).

USAGE

Find the place where you feel muscle tension or pain. The tape can be applied independently, but there are places where you will need help applying the tape.
Before applying the tape, the skin must be cleaned, dried and degreased, otherwise the tape will stick poorly and its durability will be shorter. 
Before applying the tape, feel the painful area by feeling the muscle, move the sensitive area where you plan to apply the tape.
Before applying, measure the required length of the tape, corresponding to the sensitive part of the body that you plan to tape. You may need several strips of tape.
Using Teflon-coated scissors, round the ends of the tape.
Remove the protective paper of the tape 3-4 cm from the beginning of the tape to create the base of the tape (the so-called “anchor”).
It is essential that the skin in the area where the tape will be applied is maximally stretched. You can do it independently or with the help of a person next to you. Glue the “anchor” and smooth the “anchor” with light hand movements. When smoothing the tape, heat will appear, which is activated due to the properties of the acrylic adhesive on the tape.
After a strong “anchor” fixation, it is necessary to slowly remove the remaining protective paper and stick the remaining part of the tape. Glue the end of the tape without stretching it.
Depending on the tape application technique, it can be applied with or without stretching. It should be taken into account that the tape is leveled by hand from the middle of the tape towards the ends of the tape, in order to avoid untimely peeling of the corners.
It is recommended to apply the tapes 30-40 minutes before any type of physical activity.
After swimming in the pool, bath or shower, the tapes need to be dried with a towel.
