PRONTOSAN gel 50 g

DESCRIPTION

Acute wounds need to be cleaned well because they are usually contaminated with dirt and microorganisms. These contaminants can interfere with normal wound healing and lead to complications such as infection. For acute traumatic wounds that require sutures, Prontosan® wound gel should be used after surgery and sutures. Prontosan® is a combination of unique ingredients (antimicrobial agent, polyhexanide, surfactant betaine) and is an ideal anti-biofilm agent. For cleaning, rinsing, moisturizing and decontamination of the following wounds:
• acute non-infected and infected traumatic wounds (eg cuts, abrasions or puncture wounds). Prontosan® wound gel should be used after surgical intervention; • chronic uninfected and infected wounds (e.g. bedsores, venous ulcers, diabetic foot ulcers); • postoperative wounds; • thermal, chemical and radiotherapy burns (1st and 2nd degrees).

USAGE

To achieve optimal results, before using Prontosan wound gel to clean the wound and the surrounding skin area, use Prontosan solution for rinsing the wounds (see separate product information). Prontosan Wound Gel should be applied liberally to the wound bed. Cavities and depressions should be filled with Prontosan wound gel. Primary wound dressing – bandages, gauze pads, compresses and other absorbent wound dressings can be moistened with Prontosan Wound Gel before applying the secondary dressing. Pregnancy and breast-feeding: There is no evidence of mutagenic or fetal toxicity associated with the ingredients of this product. Since there is no systemic reabsorption of polyhexanide, transfer to breast milk is unlikely. Due to the lack of relevant clinical studies and lack of clinical experience with pregnant and lactating women, in such cases Prontosan® wound gel should be used only after careful medical consultation. Neonates and infants: Due to insufficient clinical data, Prontosan® wound gel should be used in neonates and infants only in exceptional cases and under close medical supervision.

INGREDIENTS

Purified Water, Glycerin, Hydroxyethyl Cellulose, 0.1% Betaine Surfactant, 0.1% Polyaminopropyl Biguanide (Polyhexanide). Appearance and Odor: Clear, colorless water-based gel with virtually no odor.
